Imabari City Hall Complex registered as Modern Movement Architectures

Imabari City Hall Complex (completed in 1958) and Imabari Civic Center (1965) designed by Kenzo Tange are newly registered as “Modern Movement Architectures in Japan” by DOCOMOMO Japan, a non-profit organization established with an aim to document and conserve buildings of Modern Movement.  Other Kenzo Tange’s architectures, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Kagawa Prefectural Government Office, National Gymnasiums for Tokyo Olympics, St. Mary’s Cathedral and Yamanashi Press and Broadcasting Center have been already registered in the list.
